Harry Hookway

Sir Harry Hookway (July 23, 1921 – June 25, 2014) was a chief executive and civil servant. He was the first Chief Executive of the British Library , serving from 1973 to 1984. [1] Though not a librarian himself, he worked closely with members of the British Library, and served as President of the Institute of Information Scientists from 1973 to 1976. [2]
