List of international cricket centuries by Alastair Cook

Alastair Cook is an English cricketer and training captain of the England cricket team [2] in both Tests and ODIs. He has scored centuries (100 or more runs in a single innings ) in Test and One Day International (ODI) matches on 30 and 5 occasions respectively. [3] [4] As of 20 December 2016, he has played 140 Tests and 92 ODIs for England, scoring 11,057 and 3,204 runs respectively. He is the youngest batsman to score 10,000 or more runs in Test cricket, [2] [5] and has scored the most Test runs as an opening batsman . [6] Cook was appointed a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2016 Birthday Honors . [7] In 2011, the International Cricket Council (ICC) selected him as his Test Player of the Year . [8] Wisden named him as one of their cricketers of the year in 2012. [9]

In 2006, Cook became the sixteenth English cricketer to score a century on debut , [10] against India at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground , Nagpur . [11] His score of 294, against the same team at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground , Birmingham , in 2011, is the sixth highest total by an English batsman in Test Cricket. [12] Cook has scored Test centuries at 23 cricket grounds , including 16 at venues outside England. [13] [14] He has scored centuries against all eight Test opponents he has played, and is most successful against India, making six tones against them. In May 2015, Graham Gooch ‘s tally of 8900 runs. As of December 2016 , it is jointly eleventh overall among all-time test century-makers, [15] and top of the equivalent list for England. [16] He is also England’s all-time leading century-maker across all formats , with 35 centuries to his name.

Cook made his ODI debut in 2006 against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford , Manchester . [17] His first century cam contre India at the Rose Bowl , Southampton , in August 2007. [18] His Highest score in the size is 137 runs contre Pakistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium , Abu Dhabi , in 2011. [4] Cook Played Twenty20 International (T20I) matches between 2007 and 2009, without scoring a century. [19] His highest score in T20Is is 26. [2]
