Security Officer

We are currently looking to recruit two experienced Security Guards / Security Officer for our Newport based client. This is a security opportunity with a chance to progress into a more 'technical' role, therefore a background in IT/Engineering/Electronics/Communications would be of great benefit.

It is essential that you can demonstrate substantial previous Security experience and in addition to this hit the following criteria:

Essential Requirements

• UK Citizen
• Previous Security Guard experience
• CCTV monitoring and Access Control experience
• Smart appearance with a clear speaking voice
• Good IT literacy skills
• Excellent Communication skills, pleasant manner, approachable and can remain calm under pressure.
• Observant and good use of initiative
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Have a flexible attitude to working hours (12 hour shifts, 4 on 3 off)

Desirable Requirements

• Engineering/Telecommunications/IT background
• Military background would be ideal.
• Any experience of working on a Secured / MOD site would be highly advantageous
• Security Clearance – you will need to undergo SC Clearance
• Disciplined employment background e.g. Police, Military or Fire Services

General Duties

• CCTV monitoring
• Face to face client Access control
• Site monitoring & inspections rounds
• Telephone & reception/switchboard duties
• Report writing
